Burundi’s Ambassador Celebrates Belgian National Day

Brussels (Belgium, Capital of the European Union EU), 21/07/2023 – Within the framework of the Foreign Policy of the Barundi, the Ambassador of Burundi in Belgium, the much appreciated Amb. Ntahiraja Thérence, enthusiastically shared videos of the Belgian National Day celebration from the Saints-Michel-et-Gudule Cathedral in Brussels for the Te Deum and the diplomatic stands for the military parade. Accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Nitonze Eliane, the ambassador participated alongside the Belgians in the commemoration of the oath taken by the first King of the Belgians, Léopold de Saxe-Cobourg-Gotha, on 21/7/1831, marking the birth of their country. The military parade, opened by the horsemen, announced the arrival of His Majesty Philippe, King of the Belgians.

Comparing Belgium, a very recent state, established by an order of merchants -bankers-, founded on Western liberal ideals in the 19th century, Burundi – Ingoma y’Uburundi -, carried by Ubungoma (Ubuntu) has its origins which date back thousands of years thanks to the order of Barundi scholars – Banayamabanga – whose millennial sidereal zodiac calendar [1]. Thus, there are profound differences in the nature of these two states. Belgium colonized Ingoma y’Uburundi between 1919 and 1962, a crime against humanity.
