French Ambassador’s Remark on Guy-Marius Sagna

The French ambassador to Senegal, Philipe Lalliot, does not like Guy-Marius Sagna’s posture in relation to his country. He made this known yesterday on the sidelines of a press conference of the Delegation of the European Union. “If you put a movement like Frapp / France clears, the first thought that comes to mind is that it saddens me”, points out the diplomat in remarks reported by Les Échos.

Philipe Lalliot develops: “This is not how I conceive of relations between two large countries (…) which are Senegal and France. Let us work together on the challenges that we collectively face that are serious and that require international cooperation.”

The French ambassador adds: “I do not conceive of the years to come other than on this very fraternal, very friendly, very warm model, and it is very far from the political project carried by a movement like FRapp / France emerges.”
