Head of Mauritanian diplomacy: Bilateral relations have promising prospects

Moroccan-Mauritanian relations have promising prospects, said Monday in Rabat, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug.

Speaking at a joint press briefing with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, Mr. Ould Merzoug added that their discussions focused in particular on the latest developments on the Arab, African and Islamic levels, as well as on certain challenges inherent to the international situation.

The head of Mauritanian diplomacy underlined, in this context, the convergence of views of the two parties on the issues discussed.

Mr. Ould Merzoug further affirmed that Moroccan-Mauritanian relations are based on solid foundations and ties of blood and religion, explaining that this situation predisposes them to further development.

The coordination between the heads of state and the ministries of the two countries demonstrates the interest in the well-being of the two brotherly peoples, he insisted.
