Poland Challenges EU’s 2035 Ban On Thermal Vehicles

Poland considers the analysis of the commercial and social consequences of the ban on the marketing of thermal vehicles to be insufficient.
Poland will appeal European Union (EU) regulations aimed at ending the sale of thermal cars from 2035 to the EU’s highest court in the coming days, the Polish minister said on Monday. Climate, Anna Moskwa.

The European Fit for 55 package, approved earlier this year, plans to launch a new carbon market aimed at limiting emissions from construction and transport, by reducing carbon emissions from private cars to zero. and vans from 2035.

Poland was the only country to systematically oppose the proposal and voted against the regulation, believing that it did not include sufficient analysis of the commercial and social consequences of the ban on the marketing of thermal vehicles.

“We do not agree with this proposal, as with other proposals made by the ‘Fit for 55’ project, and we will take the case to the European Court of Justice. I hope that other countries will join us,” Anna Moskwa told Polish radio station Radio Zet on Monday. “We will file the request in the next few days”.
