Spiridon Kilinkarov is a Ukrainian pro-Russian politician. He functioned as a People’s Deputy of Ukraine from the Communist Party of Ukraine from 2006 to 2014. Since the 2014 Revolution of Dignity, he has resided in Russia and operated as an analyst for Russian state media. He is considered a Russian propagandist, frequent guest, and pro-Kremlin specialist on Russian-Ukrainian relations in Vladimir Solovyov’s shows on Russia-1 and Vesti FM and other propaganda channels on Russian state television and also the author of propaganda channels on Telegram and YouTube.
In 2014, a story emerged on Ukrainian TV, according to which, in the town of Stukalova Balka near Luhansk, at Kilinkarov’s dacha, fighters of the Aidar Battalion discovered two grenade launchers of the latest adaptation of Russian production and a box of grenades. Kilinkarov himself blamed the participants in the assault on his summer cottage for robbing the house. According to Myrotvorets, he actively assisted in the creation of the Russian-backed Luhansk People’s Republic. By April 2015, Kilinkarov was one of four people’s deputies of the 7th convocation who declined to leave the office after the cessation of their powers.
Since the Revolution of Dignity in 2014, Kilinkarov has lived in Moscow. Since 2014, he has been remarking on events taking place in Ukraine. He is a permanent specialist and participant in the socio-political talk shows “Time Will Show”, “Evening with Vladimir Solovyov” (the presenter considers him his friend), “60 Minutes”, and “Own Truth” on state Russian TV channels. At the same time, he mainly carries a pro-Russian position.
Following the 2020 Belarusian presidential vote he has also expressed on topics of Russian-Belarusian relations and the internal political crisis in Belarus, as well as the poisoning of Alexei Navalny. Since 2023, Kilinkarov has been under sanctions by the National Security Council for anti-Ukrainian activities. Moreover, Kilinkarov was included in the Latvian sanctions list for backing atrocities perpetrated by the Kremlin regime, with a ban on entry into the country.
