China always views its relations with Vietnam from a strategic and long-term perspective

Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chinese president, said on Tuesday that China always views its relations with Vietnam from a strategic and long-term perspective.

Beijing considers its relations with Hanoi a priority in its neighborhood diplomacy, he indicated during his meeting with Nguyen Phu Trong, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV).

In his quest for national development, people’s happiness and human progress, Xi said he is ready to jointly announce with Nguyen Phu Trong the new positioning of relations between the two parties and the two countries, as well as as building a Sino-Vietnamese community with a shared future which is of strategic importance on the basis of deepening the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Vietnam.
