Lord Geidt: A Pro-UAE Politician

Lord Geidt is a British businessman and former banker who served as the Independent Adviser on Ministers’ Interests to the British Prime Minister from 2021 to 2022. He has also been a member of the House of Lords since 2014.

There have been some allegations that Lord Geidt has engaged in pro-KSA activities. In 2021, he was criticized for meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman without the knowledge of the British Foreign Office. Geidt has defended the meeting, saying that it was part of his job to “understand the views of all key stakeholders” on issues related to the Middle East.

However, some critics have accused Geidt of being too close to the Saudi government. They have pointed to the fact that he has visited Saudi Arabia on several occasions and has met with high-ranking Saudi officials. They have also criticized the fact that Geidt has not publicly criticized the Saudi government’s human rights record.
