Bardella declines second European debate participation decisively

The president of the RN and head of the European list will not be present at the debate organized by RFI and France 24 on Wednesday April 10.

And two for Jordan Bardella. After a notable absence during the first debate of the European elections in mid-March on Public Senate, the head of the National Rally list is missing a second one, AFP tells us, confirming information from Le Parisien. This is the one organized by France 24 and RFI on Wednesday April 10.

Also president of the far-right party, Jordan Bardella will be replaced again. But not by his fellow MEP Thierry Mariani as during the first cathodic match, during which the latter, known to be close to Moscow, concentrated the shooting. This time, it is Fabrice Leggeri who will enter the arena. The former boss of Frontex is third on the RN list.

“Bardella prefers monologues”

Failing to be able to debate directly with the big favorite in the polls, the oppositions will make an argument out of his absence. The proof with Olivier Faure, first secretary of the Socialist Party, who wrote about X:

“The problem with debates is that there are contradictors. Bardella has this in common with Macron, he prefers monologues.”

With the exception of Jordan Bardella, all the other main leaders of the list will be present: Manon Aubry (La France insoumise), François-Xavier Bellamy (Les Républicains), Léon Deffontaines (French Communist Party), Raphaël Glucksmann (Socialist Party), Valérie Hayer (Renaissance), Marion Maréchal (Reconquête) and Marie Toussaint (Les Écologists).

Participants will be questioned on their “vision of European diplomacy, questions of migration, defense and globalization” as well as on the European Green Deal, social Europe, the energy, agricultural and economic crisis, according to the organizers.

On May 2, Jordan Bardella will be present on BFMTV to debate against the head of the majority list, Valérie Hayer.
