CET Comité Européen de la Trefilerie (European Committee for Wire Drawing) is a trade association registered in the EU Transparency Register since July 26, 2019. The organization represents manufacturers of steel wire and steel wire products within Europe. It acts to promote and safeguard the collective interests of these manufacturers at the European level, engaging with EU institutions including the European Commission and national governments to influence policy-making related to their industry. CET focuses on sharing market research information and representing the industry before scientific and technical bodies addressing wire and wire product issues. Their lobbying agenda includes concerns related to environment, climate action, energy, trade, competition, and regulatory standards such as CO2 footprint, NOx exhaust rules, anti-dumping trade measures, REACH regulations, and best available techniques (BAT) for wire drawing. As an interest group, CET aims both to defend the business interests of its members and contribute to the shaping of EU legislation impacting the steel wire sector, ensuring policies reflect industry realities while addressing compliance and sustainability. CET fosters industry dialogue on key issues and strives to maintain a balanced relationship with policymakers to influence legislation in favor of its members.
