Its agenda includes driving EU policies that foster traceability, reduce deforestation, and improve social standards such as child rights protection in cocoa sourcing. The Coalition often partners with other cocoa industry associations and multi-stakeholder platforms such as national sustainable cocoa initiatives (e.g., Belgium’s Beyond Chocolate, the Dutch DISCO, etc.) and international certification bodies to align industry efforts. It also actively participates in dialogues concerning deforestation due diligence laws and EU sustainability governance for cocoa imports, aiming to ensure the EU market reflects fair and transparent cocoa trade practices.
