FIA Europe

FIA Europe

FIA Europe (the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile European Bureau) is the European representation of the global FIA, which is recognized as a leading voice in mobility and automotive policy advocacy. Founded to support the interests of its 66 member mobility clubs representing over 40 million users across Europe, FIA Europe advocates for safe, affordable, sustainable, and accessible mobility solutions in the EU. Its Brussels office opened in 2018 to enhance local engagement with EU policymakers, regulators, and stakeholders, enabling direct dialogue on critical regulatory challenges such as road safety, environmental standards, digital innovation in automotive industries, and mobility affordability. FIA Europe works to influence EU legislation to maintain freedom of movement, integrate sustainability in transportation, and promote equitable access to mobility for all Europeans. The bureau regularly interacts with policymakers on key issues including the implementation of zero road deaths ambitions by 2050, electrification of vehicles, and digital transformation of the automotive sector. FIA’s European lobby efforts are focused on shaping transportation and mobility policy aligned with broader EU goals like the European Green Deal and the EU’s 2030 climate objectives. Advocacy efforts include participation in EU consultations, legislative dialogues, and public campaigns to raise awareness about mobility challenges and innovations. FIA Europe’s strategy also involves forming coalitions and broad stakeholder engagement to strengthen its influence across EU institutions.
