Global Infrastructure Investor Association

Global Infrastructure Investor Association

The Global Infrastructure Investor Association (GIIA) is a prominent membership body representing leading institutional investors and advisers in global infrastructure. Founded in 2016 and headquartered in London, GIIA aims to promote private investment in infrastructure by engaging with policymakers, regulators, and governments worldwide. Its membership, which includes more than 100 organizations, collectively manages over $2.04 trillion in infrastructure assets across 68 countries, spanning sectors like energy, transport, digital infrastructure, and water.

GIIA operates as a voice for infrastructure investors, advocating for policy frameworks that encourage the deployment of private capital to critical infrastructure projects essential for economic growth, environmental sustainability, and social welfare. The Association conducts evidence-based lobbying with a strong emphasis on supporting the European Green Deal, the Fit for 55 package, Trans-European Networks, energy market design reforms, and digitalization initiatives. Through sustained advocacy, GIIA aims to bridge the global infrastructure funding gap, accelerate decarbonization, drive digital transformation, and foster investment environments that attract long-term capital.

Its lobbying objectives are closely tied to shaping regulatory change, facilitating discussions between public and private sectors, and supporting innovation in infrastructure business models. GIIA also organizes thought leadership events and fosters networks across the infrastructure investment community, advancing international cooperation and best practices. By providing a unified industry voice, GIIA ensures that the perspective of major infrastructure investors is considered in EU and global policy deliberations
