Tunisia – Diplomacy: Nabil Ammar meets with EU ambassadors

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar, met, on Monday, June 10, 2024, during a working lunch, the ambassadors of the Member States of the European Union (EU), at the residence of the Ambassador of Belgium in Tunis, whose country holds the periodic presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The meeting was an opportunity to discuss the partnership between Tunisia and the EU, particularly in its political aspect, and the prospects for its promotion with a view to establishing an approach to address common challenges, indicates a press release from the Department of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting also made it possible to reaffirm the commitment of both parties to strengthen cooperation at all levels, on the basis of mutual respect in the service of the common interest.

Mr. Ammar took this opportunity to highlight the major role played by Tunisians abroad in the development of their countries of residence, emphasizing the imperative of working to protect their rights and create favorable conditions to enhance their contribution to strengthening relations between Tunisia and host countries.

He also reiterated Tunisia’s commitment to supporting just causes, including first and foremost the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. While denouncing approaches based on the policy of “double standards”.
