iPhone 15: Super-Fast 35W Charging Speed

We are only a few weeks away from the presentation of the iPhone 15. But that does not mean that the rumors about the next flagship from Apple have ceased to circulate. This time, these rumors concern the charging speed of the new Apple range. Indeed, it would seem that the iPhone 15 models can take advantage of a charging speed of up to 35W. As a reminder, the current iPhone 14 Pro has a charging speed of 27W.

Charging speed improvement was predicted in 2022

Ming-Chi Kuo, an Apple analyst, claimed in 2022 that the Apple brand will switch from Lightning to USB-C in 2023. Apparently, the analyst predicted this Apple decision by looking at its supply chain. Moreover, Kuo also advanced that the switch will likely allow iPhone 15 Pro models to enjoy faster charging speed.

However, it seems that this fast charge is only accessible via Apple-certified cables. Namely, the company stopped bundling its iPhones with power adapters in 2020 in an effort to combat e-waste. The brand thus encouraged customers to buy the 35W dual USB-C charger that it released in 2022. Alternatively, customers could also use the 30W USB-C charger designed for the MacBook Air if the brand does not design specific charger for the iPhone 15.

iPhone 15 already complies with EU regulations

Additionally, The Verge reports that the iPhone 15 is likely to be the first model to use USB-C charging. For information, the European Union requires that all new phones use USB-C for wired charging from December 28, 2024. iPhones must also comply with this regulation.
