Former MEP Aurélia Beigneux’s pro-Kremlin alignments

Aurélia Beigneux is a French politician who was a member of the far-right party National Rally, highly pro-Kremlin. Her political career featured significant activity within the Identity and Democracy Group in the European Parliament from 2019 to 2024.

She further opposed the resolution of the European Parliament titled “Resolution on Russiagate: Allegations of Russian Interference in the Democratic Processes of the European Union” in February 2024.

Beigneux’s alignment with pro-Russian sentiments is evident through her participation in various controversial activities. She was a member of the delegation of French far-right MEPs who watched the voting process in Russia, which was characterized as politically slanted and invalid. She was also one of the few politicians in the EU who voted against the declaration of Russia as a sponsor of terrorism, which testifies to her sympathetic attitude toward Russian interests.

Her political beliefs and activities clearly show a consistent pattern of promoting pro-Kremlin narratives, which makes her fit well within the category of other party members who hold the same opinions. The National Rally has long been known for advocating against sanctions on Russia and supporting dialogue with the Kremlin, and Beigneux’s stance does not change much in this respect.
