Viola Amherd meets her counterparts at the European Summit

The fourth meeting of the European Political Community (EPC), aimed at promoting cooperation on the continent, opened in Britain on Thursday.

The summit of European heads of state and government opened Thursday morning in Great Britain. Switzerland is represented there by the President of the Confederation Viola Amherd.

Representatives from 47 European countries as well as institutions of the European Union, the Council of Europe and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) meet at Blenheim Palace, near the English town of Oxford, on the occasion of the fourth meeting of the European Political Community (EPC).

The CPE is a forum aimed at promoting political dialogue and cooperation on the European continent. Discussions on continued aid to Ukraine, the fight against illegal immigration and security and energy issues are on the agenda.
